Trochlear Ridge Prostheses (TRP)
TRP is designed to offer veterinary surgeons an additional tool in the treatment of patella dislocation. TRP is a customized prosthetic implant that allows the trochlear edges of the femur to be raised as needed, thereby improving the containment of the patella in its anatomical location without altering the patient’s anatomy. TRP represents an alternative to solcoplasty surgery, with the goal of minimizing the invasiveness of the procedure for the patient and reducing surgical time. The customization of the prosthesis, designed on the basis of three-dimensional reconstruction of the patient’s bone, allows the implant to adapt to the bone and not vice versa. Its application does not involve the ostectomies required in surgical practice with standardized implants.
